Manual Magnification Input

"Manual Magnification Input" lets you directly enter the actual length corresponding to 1 pixel to quickly set the measurement scale of the current image, when the current image scale is already known.

Note that:

The value entered here is not a lens magnification such as 1×, 2×, or 3×, but the actual length that each pixel corresponds to.

Opening the Function

Click:

Calibration Processing → Manual Magnification Input

The software opens an input window and displays the current image scale.

For example:

1 pixel = 0.004 mm

means that 1 pixel in the image corresponds to an actual size of 0.004 mm.

Entering the Image Scale

Enter the known image scale in the input box.

For example, when the current unit is mm, enter:

0.004

which means:

1 pixel = 0.004 mm

The input unit follows the length unit currently used by Easson2D, for example:

  • mm
  • µm
  • inch

The software converts accordingly based on the current unit.

Completing the Setup

After entering the correct value, click OK.

Easson2D applies the scale to both:

  • The X direction
  • The Y direction

The new image scale takes effect immediately, and subsequent image measurements such as circles, distances, and lengths use the new scale for dimensional conversion.

The setting is also saved automatically and remains effective after restarting the software.

Example

Assume that, as confirmed by another calibration device, under the current lens:

1 pixel = 0.0035 mm

Then the operation is:

  1. Click "Calibration Processing → Manual Magnification Input".
  2. Enter 0.0035 in the input box.
  3. Click OK.
  4. The software immediately uses the new image scale for measurement.

Notes

The manual input method is suitable when the current pixel-to-length scale is already clearly known.

If the image scale is unknown, it is recommended to use:

  • Image Calibration - Four Circles
  • Image Calibration - Two-Line Distance
  • Image Calibration - Single Circle

or other practical standard-part calibration methods to re-determine the scale.

The entered value must be within the valid range allowed by the software; if the input is invalid, the software prompts you to try again.

In short:

When you already know "how much actual length 1 pixel equals", you can use Manual Magnification Input to set the image scale quickly.
