Two-Circle Distance
Overview
The two-circle distance feature calculates the distance between two circles. After selecting two circles, the software displays an options dialog where you can choose the distance calculation method and generate a corresponding line element.
Steps
Step 1: Click the Function Button
In the Measurement Bar, click the Two-Circle Distance button.
Step 2: Select Two Circles
In the Vision Area or Geometry Area, select two circle elements in sequence.
Step 3: Choose the Distance Calculation Method
After selection, the software displays an options dialog with the following methods:
- Center-to-Center Distance: Calculates the straight-line distance between the two circle centers
- Longest Distance: Calculates the distance between the two farthest points on the circles
- Shortest Distance: Calculates the distance between the two closest points on the circles
After selecting the desired method, the software will automatically calculate and generate the corresponding line distance element.
Notes
- Selection order is flexible — it does not matter which circle you select first
- Choose the distance calculation method that best fits your measurement needs
- The generated line element can be used in subsequent tolerance analysis
