Measurement Data Content
The measurement database in Easson2D not only saves the final measured values, but also records element information, tolerance information, judgment results, and some product information, making it convenient for later querying, export, or data integration with other systems.
The data in the database can be simply understood as:
A measurement element → a measurement record → multiple measurement attributes
For example, when measuring a circle, the database first saves the basic information of this "circle", and then saves specific measurement results such as the diameter, center X, and center Y.
Basic Element Information
Each time a measurement element is completed, the database saves the basic information of that element, such as:
- Element ID
- Element name
- Element type
- Workpiece name
- Material number
- Batch number
- Product SN
- Measurement time
- Tolerance status
- Measurement count related information
This information is mainly used to identify which workpiece, which measurement element, and when the current record was measured.
Measurement Attributes
An element usually contains multiple measurement attributes.
For example, a circle element may include:
- Diameter
- Center X
- Center Y
Each attribute saves the corresponding measurement data, including:
- Measured value
- Standard value
- Upper tolerance
- Lower tolerance
- Error
- Judgment result
- Out-of-tolerance status
Therefore, the database can not only show "how much was measured", but also "what the standard requirement is" and "whether it is conforming".
Main Record and Detail Data
Within the database, the measurement data is mainly divided into two parts:
Measurement Main Table
Used to save the overall information of a measurement element.
For example:
Circle 1
corresponds to one main record, which includes the element name, type, measurement time, workpiece information, and so on.
Measurement Detail Table
Used to save the specific measurement results of this element.
For example, Circle 1 corresponds to:
- Diameter
- Center X
- Center Y
These attributes are associated with the main record of Circle 1 as detail data.
This can be simply understood as:
Main table = what this element is
Detail table = what this element measured
Measurement Image Information
If image saving is enabled, the database also saves information related to the images.
For example:
- Image type
- Image file name
- X coordinate
- Y coordinate
- Z coordinate
- Current magnification
The actual images are saved separately as JPEG files, and the database records the association between the images and the measurement elements.
Product Information
Easson2D can also attach product-related information to measurement records, such as:
- Workpiece name
- Material number
- Batch number
- Product SN
This information helps you distinguish different products, batches, or workpieces among a large number of historical records.
A Simple Example
Suppose you measure:
Circle 1
The database may form the following structure:
Circle 1
Element name: Circle 1 Element type: Circle Measurement time: ... Material number: ... Batch number: ...
Corresponding detail measurement data:
Diameter = 10.002 mmCenter X = 25.123 mmCenter Y = 18.456 mm
If tolerances are set for these attributes, the following values are also saved:
- Standard value
- Upper tolerance
- Lower tolerance
- Error
- Judgment result
If image saving is enabled, the image or geometry image of that measurement can also be associated.
How Multiple Elements Are Saved
If a measurement program contains:
Circle 1Distance 1Angle 1
then these three elements each generate their own measurement record, rather than all being placed in one record.
That is:
Circle 1 → one record
Distance 1 → one record
Angle 1 → one record
Each record is then associated with its own measurement attributes.
Therefore, the measurement database saves data with the "measurement element" as the basic record unit.
Usage Recommendations
If you later need to integrate Easson2D data into MES, QMS, or other systems, you can usually focus on:
- Element name
- Element type
- Measurement time
- Material number
- Batch number
- Product SN
- Measured value
- Standard value
- Tolerance
- Error
- Judgment result
These fields are already sufficient to cover most quality data integration requirements.
