Two-Line Distance
Overview
The two-line distance feature calculates the distance between two line elements. Select two lines, and the software will automatically compute and output the shortest distance between them.
- If the two lines are not parallel, the software outputs the shortest distance between them
- If the two lines are parallel, the software outputs the perpendicular distance between the parallel lines
Steps
Step 1: Click the Function Button
In the Measurement Bar, click the Two-Line Distance button.
Step 2: Select Two Lines
In the Vision Area or Geometry Area, select two line elements in sequence.
As with two-point line, the selected lines can be previously measured line elements or lines generated through other constructions.
Step 3: Generate the Result
After selection, the software will automatically calculate and output the distance between the two lines.
Notes
- Selection order is flexible — it does not matter which line you select first
- When the lines are parallel, the perpendicular distance is output; otherwise, the shortest distance is output
- The result can be used in subsequent tolerance analysis
