Create and Load Report

Overview

Before using the custom report, you first need to prepare an Excel report.

Easson2D supports two approaches:

  • Create a new blank report
  • Load an existing Excel report

Users can start designing from a blank report or directly use an existing Excel inspection report from their company or customer, depending on actual needs.

Create a New Blank Report

If no existing Excel template is available, you can directly create a new blank report in Easson2D.

When creating a new report, you need to set:

  • Report width
  • Report height

The width and height correspond to the number of columns and rows needed for the custom report editing area.

After setting, click Create, choose a file save location, and Easson2D will create a new Excel file and generate a blank report editing area.

Newly created reports use the Sheet1 worksheet by default.

Users can then enter titles, text, or other fixed content into the blank table and add measurement data items for automatic output.

Load an Existing Excel Report

If you already have an internal inspection report, a customer-specified template, or another Excel spreadsheet, you can directly click Browse to select an existing Excel file.

After loading the file, Easson2D reads the existing worksheets in the Excel file and displays them in the worksheet list.

Users can select the worksheet they want to edit, and the software will load the existing content of that worksheet into the custom report editing area.

This way, Easson2D measurement data output positions can be added on top of the original Excel report without redesigning the entire report.

Select a Worksheet

When the Excel file contains multiple worksheets, you can switch between them using the worksheet dropdown.

After selecting a different worksheet, the custom report editing area will display the content of the corresponding worksheet.

Therefore, a single Excel file can retain multiple report pages for different purposes, and you can select the specific worksheet you need to work with.

Choosing Between the Two Approaches

If you simply want to quickly set up a new measurement record sheet, use Create a new blank report.

If your company already has a fixed Excel inspection report format, it is recommended to directly load an existing Excel file and bind measurement data within the existing report.

Regardless of the approach, after preparing the report, the next step is to select the measurement data to output and add it to the specified report positions.
