Element Colors and Display Styles

Easson2D supports customizing the display colors of geometric elements, annotations, backgrounds, and measurement states.

According to your working environment and viewing habits, you can adjust the colors, annotation font sizes, and line widths of different types of elements.

These settings only change the display effect in the software and do not change the actual measurement data.

Opening the Color Settings

Click:

Options → Settings

In the color settings area, you can adjust the display colors of different types of elements separately.

Click the corresponding color area to select the desired color.

Geometric Element Colors

Easson2D lets you set the colors of various geometric elements separately, such as:

  • Points
  • Lines
  • Circles, arcs, and ellipses
  • Spline curves
  • Annotations
  • DXF graphics
  • 3D solids

Elements of the same type use the same color setting.

For example, after modifying the "circle color", circles, arcs, and ellipses in the software are displayed in the new color.

Color settings are applied uniformly by element type, and an independent color cannot be set for a single element.

Element State Colors

In addition to the basic element colors, you can set the display colors of different operation states, such as:

  • Selected color
  • Deleted color
  • Snapping color

For example, when you select a geometric element, the element is highlighted with the set "selected color", making the current operation target more obvious.

Tolerance State Colors

Easson2D can also distinguish the tolerance state of measurement results with different colors.

You can set:

  • The color of elements with tolerance that are conforming
  • The out-of-spec color

This makes it faster to find elements with tolerance abnormalities when viewing a large number of measurement results.

The conforming, upper out-of-spec, and lower out-of-spec colors in some Excel outputs can also be set separately.

Background, Grid, and Text Colors

The settings window also allows you to adjust:

  • The geometry area background color
  • The grid color
  • The element number / name text color
  • The text background color

For example, when using a darker geometry area background, you can pair it with brighter element and text colors to improve display contrast.

Annotation Font Size

Easson2D lets you set separately:

  • The annotation font size in the image area
  • The annotation font size in the geometry area

If the screen resolution is high, or the measured elements are densely arranged, you can adjust the annotation size according to the actual situation.

If the font size is too large, it may block nearby elements; if it is too small, it may be inconvenient to read. Therefore, it is recommended to adjust according to the current display scale.

Pen Line Width

You can also adjust the:

pen line width

of geometric elements.

The line width can be set to different pixel widths.

Thinner lines suit complex graphics with many elements, while thicker lines are easier to observe on high-resolution displays.

Usage Recommendations

When adjusting the display styles, first make sure there is enough color contrast among:

the background, elements, and text.

For example:

  • Pair brighter elements with a dark background
  • Keep the grid color from standing out too much
  • Make the selected color clearly distinct from normal elements
  • Make the out-of-spec color easy to identify
  • Reduce the font size and line width appropriately when there are many elements

Through these settings, the display effect of Easson2D can better suit the operating habits and working environments of different users.
