Angularity
Overview
Angularity evaluates the deviation of a measured element from a specified angle relative to a datum element. In Easson2D, the system does not directly output an angle difference. Instead, it establishes an ideal angular reference based on the datum element and the given angle, then calculates the maximum distance of the measured element from that ideal reference.
Steps
Step 1: Click the Function Button
Click Angularity in the Tolerance menu to open the geometric tolerance dialog.
Step 2: Select Elements
Select line elements in the Vision Area or Geometry Area:
- The first click selects the measured element
- The second click selects the datum element
Step 3: Create Label (Optional)
To create a label, check Create Label before confirming. Left-click in the Vision Area or Geometry Area to place the annotation at the desired position.
Calculation Principles
The system establishes an ideal angular reference based on the datum element and the specified angle, then calculates the maximum distance of the measured element from that ideal reference.

Formula
Result = Maximum distance of the measured element from the "specified-angle ideal reference"Example Calculation
Given:
- Datum element is a horizontal line
- Specified angle ref_angle = 30°
- Evaluation length L = 20.000 mm
- Measured element: M1 = (0.000, 0.000), M2 = (17.320, 10.014)
- Ideal 30° reference endpoint: T2 = (17.320, 10.000)
Step 1: Using the datum element as the directional reference, establish a 30° ideal angular reference line.
Step 2: Compare the measured endpoint M2 with the ideal endpoint T2.
Step 3: Endpoint deviation = |10.014 - 10.000| = 0.014 mm.
Step 4: The result is this maximum deviation: Angularity = 0.014 mm.
Notes
- Both the measured element and the datum element must be line elements
- The selection order matters: select the measured element first, then the datum element
- The nominal angularity angle must be specified beforehand
- Labels can be placed flexibly as needed
