Two-Line Calibration
"Vision Calibration - Two-Line Distance" is used to calibrate the measurement scale of the current image using two lines or edges of known actual spacing.
With this function, you acquire points on two edges separately to establish two lines. Easson2D first calculates the pixel distance between the two lines in the image, and then you enter their actual distance. The software recalculates the corresponding image scale based on the relationship between the actual distance and the pixel distance.
Select the Calibration Direction
This function supports calibrating:
- The X axis
- The Y axis
- Both the X and Y axes
Therefore, when you find a scale deviation in one direction, you can correct only that direction without changing the scales of both directions at the same time. This is an important feature of "Two-Line Distance" calibration compared with single circle calibration.
Measure the Two Lines
Acquire points separately on the two edges to be used, and establish two lines.
For example, you can use a standard block, gauge block, or other standard part with a known parallel edge spacing for calibration.
Enter the Actual Distance
After completing the measurement of the two lines, enter their actual distance.
Based on the relationship between the actual distance and the pixel distance in the image, the software automatically updates the pixel-to-length scale for the corresponding direction and displays the new:
1 pixel = xxx mm
Calibration Result
The calibration result takes effect and is saved immediately, and subsequent image measurements use the new scale for dimensional conversion.
Suitable Scenarios
This function is suitable for:
- Checking and correcting scale differences between the X and Y directions
- Quickly calibrating with parallel edges of known spacing
- Correcting a single axis when a slight scale error exists in one direction
- Scenarios where there is no standard circle, but an accurate standard distance is available
In short:
By measuring two edges of known spacing and entering the actual distance, Easson2D can recalculate the image scale for the specified direction.
