Translate & Rotate
Overview
The translate and rotate feature creates a new workpiece coordinate system by applying translation offsets and rotation to the current coordinate system. It is useful when you need to align the coordinate system with a specific position on the workpiece.
Steps
Step 1: Click the Function Button
In the Measurement Bar, click the Translate & Rotate button.
Step 2: Enter Translation and Rotation Parameters
In the dialog that appears, enter the following parameters:
- X Offset: Translation distance along the X axis
- Y Offset: Translation distance along the Y axis
- Rotation Angle: The angle by which to rotate the coordinate system around the origin
Step 3: Generate the New Coordinate System
Click OK, and the software will generate the new workpiece coordinate system based on the entered parameters.
Notes
- Translation and rotation are applied relative to the current coordinate system — verify the current system before proceeding
- The offset distances and rotation angle should be determined based on the actual workpiece position
- After completing the operation, use the Work button in the Readout Area to switch to the new coordinate system
