Data Arrangement and Auto-Wrap

Overview

Easson2D custom reports support controlling the arrangement direction of consecutive measurement data in Excel, and can automatically wrap to a new row or column after outputting a specified number of data items.

This feature is especially suitable for consecutively measuring multiple workpieces and recording each measurement result in sequence into the report.

Output Direction

Users can choose from two data output directions:

  • Vertical output: Data starts from the current cell and fills downward sequentially.
  • Horizontal output: Data starts from the current cell and fills rightward sequentially.

For example, starting from cell F11:

Vertical output

F11 → F12 → F13 → F14 → ...

Horizontal output

F11 → G11 → H11 → I11 → ...

After selecting the output direction, measurement data added to the report will automatically move to the next position in that direction.

Auto-Wrap

If you need to arrange multiple measurement results in groups, you can enable the Offset feature and configure:

  • Wrap every N data items
  • Offset amount

For example, configuring:

Vertical output / Every 5 / Offset 2 columns

The data arrangement will be:

F11 → F12 → F13 → F14 → F15

After completing 5 data items, it automatically moves 2 columns to the right:

H11 → H12 → H13 → H14 → H15

Then continues to the next group.

If horizontal output is selected, the logic is reversed:

Horizontal output / Every 5 / Offset 2 rows

Which results in:

F11 → G11 → H11 → I11 → J11

Then automatically moves 2 rows down:

F13 → G13 → H13 → I13 → J13

Typical Applications

Suppose you need to consecutively measure 20 identical workpieces, each recording the same dimensional results.

By configuring the output direction and auto-wrap, Easson2D can automatically arrange the data into multiple rows or columns without the user having to manually specify new Excel cells each time.

This approach is especially suitable for:

  • Consecutive measurement of multiple workpieces
  • Multi-batch data recording
  • Array-style reports
  • Storing a fixed number of measurement results per row or column

Once configured, Easson2D automatically manages the next data writing position, ensuring that consecutive measurement results are neatly arranged in the report according to the preset rules.
