Use Custom Report in Programs
Overview
Easson2D's custom report can be combined with program recording so that the measurement program automatically fills the latest measurement results into an Excel report on repeated runs.
Users only need to complete data binding once while recording a program. When subsequently measuring similar workpieces, there is no need to manually select or copy data again.
Add Report Data During Program Recording
First, record a measurement program as normal.
During program recording, select what you want to output:
Measurement element → Attribute → Data type
Then select a target cell in the custom report and click Add.
For example:
Circle 1 → Diameter → Measurement value
added to cell F11 in the report.
Easson2D associates this report output setting with the corresponding measurement program.
Auto-Fill When Running the Program
After program recording is complete, when the program runs again to measure a workpiece, Easson2D will update the configured report data with the latest measurement results.
For example, after the program re-measures Circle 1, the latest diameter of Circle 1 is automatically written to the previously specified report position.
Thus the entire process achieves:
Auto measure → Auto obtain measurement results → Auto fill custom report
without requiring the user to manually copy data after each measurement.
Consecutively Record Multiple Workpieces
If data arrangement and auto-wrap are also configured, new measurement results can be automatically written to the next position after each program run.
For example:
- First measurement writes to
F11 - Second measurement writes to
F12 - Third measurement writes to
F13
After reaching the specified count, it can also auto-wrap to a new row or column to continue recording.
This allows saving measurement results for multiple workpieces sequentially in a single Excel report.
Basic Workflow
- Prepare or load an Excel report.
- Start recording a measurement program.
- Complete the required measurement steps.
- Select a target cell in the custom report.
- Select measurement element, attribute, and data type, then click Add.
- Optionally configure output direction, auto-wrap, and pass/fail colors.
- Complete program recording.
- Measurement results will be automatically filled into the report when the program runs.
By combining custom reports with measurement programs, an integrated workflow from automatic measurement to report filling can be achieved, especially suitable for repetitive workpiece inspection and batch measurement.
