Set Batch Tolerance
Overview
Set Batch Tolerance allows you to assign nominal values with upper and lower tolerance bounds to multiple element attributes in the Data Area at once. Through the batch tolerance dialog, you can flexibly choose the tolerance application scope and the method for determining nominal values, significantly improving tolerance setup efficiency for measurement programs with many dimension items.
Steps
Step 1: Select Elements
In the Data Area, select the elements that need batch tolerance settings.
Step 2: Open Batch Settings
Right-click in the Data Area grid and select Tolerance > Batch Set.
Step 3: Choose the Dimension Scope
Select the scope of dimensions to which the tolerance will be applied. See Tolerance Application Scope for details.
Step 4: Choose the Nominal Value Method
Select how nominal values will be determined. See Setting Nominal Values for details.
Step 5: Enter Tolerance Values
Set the approximate decimal places or enter the nominal value as needed, then enter the upper tolerance and lower tolerance.
Quick Operation
When the lower tolerance is currently 0, clicking the lower tolerance input field will automatically populate it with the upper tolerance value, making it easy to quickly set identical upper and lower tolerances.
Step 6: Confirm
Click OK to complete the batch settings.
Tolerance Application Scope
You can choose which measurement dimensions the tolerance settings will apply to:
| Scope Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| All Dimension Types | Apply to all qualifying dimensions |
| Selected Same-Type Dimensions | Apply only to the currently selected dimensions of the same type |
| Selected Range | Specify start and end elements to modify only dimensions within that range |
When Selected Range mode is chosen, you can select the start and end measurement elements from dropdown lists.
Setting Nominal Values
Nominal values can be determined in three ways:
| Method | Description |
|---|---|
| Use Measured Value | Directly use the current actual measurement result as the nominal value |
| Use Approximate Value | Generate an approximate nominal value based on the measurement result, with an option to set the number of decimal places to retain |
| Use Specified Value | Manually enter a uniform nominal value by the user |
You can also set the upper tolerance and lower tolerance. When the lower tolerance is currently 0, clicking the lower tolerance input field will automatically populate it with the upper tolerance value, making it easy to quickly set identical upper and lower tolerances.
Use Cases
This feature is suitable for:
- Measurement programs that contain a large number of dimension items
- Multiple dimensions that require the same or similar tolerances
- Quickly establishing nominal values based on current measurement results
- Batch-modifying tolerances for only a specific segment of measurement items
