Geometry Area Display
The geometry area in Easson2D displays geometric elements that have been measured or constructed.
According to your usage habits, you can adjust display options in the geometry area such as the grid, element numbers, names, point style, and background.
These settings are mainly used to improve the viewing experience and do not change the actual measurement results.
Show the Grid
Click:
View → Show Grid
to show or hide the grid in the geometry area.
When enabled, a regular grid is displayed in the background of the geometry area, making it easier to observe the positions and relative relationships of elements.
Click again to hide the grid.
The grid display state is saved by the software, so the previous setting can be kept the next time Easson2D is opened.
Grid Color
The grid color can be modified in the color settings area of:
Options → Settings
You can choose a suitable grid color according to the background color of the geometry area, making the grid clearer or reducing visual interference.
The specific grid color settings are introduced in the later "Element Colors and Display Styles" page.
Show Element Numbers or Names
Click:
View → Show Number
to switch the text displayed next to geometric elements.
This function has three display states:
None → Number → Name
For example, a circle element can be displayed as:
C1
or as the name set by the user for this element.
If the geometry area contains many elements, you can turn off numbers and names to keep the view cleaner.
If you need to quickly identify a specific element, you can turn on the number or name display.
Point Style
Click:
View → Point Style
to switch the display style of point elements in the geometry area.
Easson2D provides several point styles. You can choose a more easily observable display method according to the background, element density, or personal habits.
The point style only changes the appearance of point elements and does not change the actual coordinates of the points.
Geometry Area Background Color
The background color of the geometry area can be adjusted in:
Options → Settings
For example, you can choose a darker or lighter background color according to the usage environment, making the measured elements, grid, and annotations easier to observe.
After changing the background color, the color of the geometric elements themselves does not change.
If you need to further adjust the colors of elements such as lines, circles, splines, and annotations, refer to the later "Element Colors and Display Styles" page.
Zoom In, Zoom Out, and Fit to Window
When viewing geometric elements, you can also use the viewing tools of the geometry area, such as:
- Zoom in
- Zoom out
- Pan the view
- Box select
- Fit to window
These functions only change the view range of the current geometry area and do not change the position or size of the elements themselves.
Fit to window can quickly adjust the display range so that the current geometric elements are displayed as completely as possible in the window.
Usage Recommendations
If you need to view a complex workpiece for a long time, you can combine these display settings according to the actual situation.
For example:
- When there are many complex elements, you can turn off element names and the grid to keep the view cleaner.
- When you need to confirm element positions, you can turn on the grid and element numbers.
- When the background and element colors are not clearly distinguishable, you can modify the geometry area background or related element colors.
Through these settings, the geometry area can better suit the viewing habits of different users without affecting the actual measurement data.
