Parallel Line
Overview
The parallel line feature generates a line parallel to an existing line element. You can determine the parallel line's position by clicking directly in the Vision Area or Geometry Area, or by right-clicking to enter an offset distance for precise placement.
Steps
Step 1: Click the Function Button
Click the Parallel Line function in the Edit menu.
Note
Unlike other element construction features, parallel line is accessed from the Edit menu rather than the Measurement Bar.
Step 2: Select a Line Element
In the Vision Area or Geometry Area, select a line element as the reference line.
Step 3: Generate the Parallel Line
After selecting the reference line, you can determine the parallel line's position in one of two ways:
- Method 1 (Direct Click): Click directly at the desired position in the Vision Area or Geometry Area
- Method 2 (Enter Distance): Right-click to open a dialog and enter the offset distance from the reference line
The software will generate the corresponding parallel line element.
Notes
- A line element must be selected as the reference
- Method 1 is ideal for quick positioning; Method 2 is suitable when a precise distance is required
- The generated parallel line can be used in subsequent element construction and tolerance analysis
