Perpendicular Line
Overview
The perpendicular line feature generates a line perpendicular to an existing line element. After selecting a reference line, define the perpendicular line by clicking twice to set its start and end points, and the software will automatically generate a perpendicular line element.
Steps
Step 1: Click the Function Button
Click the Perpendicular Line function in the Edit menu.
Note
The perpendicular line function is accessed from the Edit menu rather than the Measurement Bar.
Step 2: Select a Line Element
In the Vision Area or Geometry Area, select a line element as the reference line.
Step 3: Define the Perpendicular Line
In the Vision Area or Geometry Area, click twice to set the start point and end point of the perpendicular line. The software will automatically generate a line element perpendicular to the reference line.
Notes
- A line element must be selected as the reference
- The two clicks define the start and end points of the perpendicular line respectively
- The generated perpendicular line can be used in subsequent element construction and tolerance analysis
