Enable the Measurement Database
The "Measurement Database" feature in Easson2D automatically saves measurement results to a local database after measurement, making it convenient for later querying, export, and data integration with the customer's own MES, QMS, or other systems.
The current feature actually uses a SQLite database, not a .sql script file. The default database file is MySQLite.db.
Opening the Measurement Database Feature
Go to:
Interface Layout → Window Display Selection
and check:
Measurement Database
to enable the database recording feature.
This option is the master switch of the measurement database. By default, database recording is disabled. Only after it is enabled does Easson2D write new measurement results to the database.
Interface Changes after Enabling
After enabling "Measurement Database", the software displays the related function buttons, including:
- Database
- Database Settings
Where:
- Database: used to open the EsBrowser database browsing tool to view saved historical measurement results.
- Database Settings: used to set the database file location and whether to save content such as image area, geometry area, and navigation area pictures.
How Measurement Data Is Saved
After enabling the measurement database, you continue to measure in the normal way, with no need to perform an additional "Save to Database" operation.
When a measurement element is completed, Easson2D automatically writes its measurement result to the database.
For example, when measuring:
Circle 1Distance 1Angle 1
each element produces its own database record after measurement.
Therefore, this can be simply understood as:
After enabling the measurement database, data is saved automatically as soon as measurement elements are completed.
Automatic Program Measurement
The measurement database also applies to automatic programs.
During program execution, completed measurement elements are written to the database according to the actual measurement results.
For ordinary automatic measurement, a record is saved after each element is completed; some batch run modes submit the data in a batch after the entire batch measurement is finished.
There is no need to change the original program measurement workflow.
Tolerance Data Updates
If the following values of a saved measurement element are later modified:
- Standard value
- Upper tolerance
- Lower tolerance
Easson2D updates the most recent database record of that element synchronously, rather than simply adding a duplicate record.
This keeps the measurement results in the database consistent with the current tolerance settings.
Database File
Measurement data is saved by default to:
MySQLite.db
The default location is:
EsBrowser\Machine\MySQLite.db
This file is a standard SQLite 3 database. If the database does not exist on first use, the software automatically creates the database and the required data tables.
The database does not create a separate file for each workpiece; instead, it continuously appends new measurement records to the same database.
Basic Workflow
The basic usage of the measurement database can be summarized as:
Enable "Measurement Database" → Perform manual or program measurement normally → Data is saved automatically when measurement elements are completed → Click the "Database" button to open EsBrowser and view historical results
For ordinary operators, there is no need to understand the internal structure of the database; simply enable the feature and measure normally.
The following pages will continue to introduce:
- Database path and image saving
- Viewing data in EsBrowser
- What measurement content is saved in the database
