Program Playback

After recording a probe measurement program, you can play it back to let Easson2D automatically perform the probe measurement according to the recorded steps.

During playback, the software executes, in sequence, the items saved during recording:

  • Probe measurement steps
  • Probe point positions
  • Waypoints that were set
  • The order in which measurement elements acquire points

Therefore, a correctly recorded probe program with a well-planned route can be used to measure identical workpieces repeatedly.

Play a Program

Select a recorded measurement program and start playback.

Easson2D executes the program in the recorded order:

Move to the recorded position → probe a point → move to the next position → complete the measurement element

If the program contains multiple measurement elements, the software completes them one by one in the order they were recorded.

For example:

Horizontal line measurement → Horizontal circle measurement → Height measurement → Flatness measurement

The program executes step by step until the entire measurement workflow is complete.

Move Along the Recorded Path

When playing back a probe program, the machine moves in sequence according to the positions saved during recording.

If you added waypoints using Set Path while recording, these waypoints are also executed during program playback.

For example:

Measurement point A → Waypoint 1 → Waypoint 2 → Measurement point B

During playback, the probe moves in the same order, thereby avoiding the obstacles that were already taken into account during recording.

The Program Does Not Avoid Obstacles Automatically

Please note:

Easson2D executes the program according to the recorded positions and path, but it does not automatically detect whether new obstacles appear along the movement path.

Therefore, before playing back a program, confirm that:

  • The workpiece is placed in the correct position
  • The fixture position matches the one used during recording
  • No new obstacles are present in the measurement area
  • The planned waypoints are still safe
  • Every two consecutive positions can be moved between safely

If the workpiece, fixture, or site conditions change, recheck the program route.

First Playback of a New Program

For a probe program that has just been recorded, pay special attention to the entire motion during the first playback.

It is recommended to watch closely for:

  • Whether the probe moves in the expected order
  • Whether the probe reaches each measurement position correctly
  • Whether the probe gets close to the workpiece or fixture during movement
  • Whether the waypoints effectively avoid obstacles
  • Whether each measurement step executes in the recorded order

Only use the program for repeated measurement after confirming that the whole program runs safely and the measurement order is correct.

Repeated Measurement

Once the program is confirmed to be correct, it can be used to repeatedly measure identical workpieces.

The basic workflow is:

Place the workpiece → Play back the recorded program → The machine moves along the set route → The probe completes each measurement step automatically → Measurement results are obtained

This reduces the need for the operator to repeatedly perform the same probe operations, improving the consistency and efficiency of repeated measurement.

Usage Notes

Automatic execution of a probe program relies on the measurement positions and safe path established during recording.

Therefore, playing back a program can be understood as:

Re-executing the already recorded "measurement steps + movement route"

If the workpiece position, fixture position, or measurement environment changes noticeably, first confirm that the existing program still applies before running it automatically.
