Navigation Positioning
After the navigation camera is calibrated, you can use smart navigation for quick positioning.
The navigation area can be thought of as a "large map" of the device stage. Instead of gradually moving and searching for targets through the main image area, you can directly select a target position in the navigation image and the machine will quickly move to the corresponding area.
Positioning by Double-Clicking the Navigation Image
Find the position you want to observe or measure in the navigation area, then simply:
Double-click the target position in the navigation image
Easson2D calculates the device coordinates corresponding to that position based on the navigation camera calibration result, and moves the machine to the target area.
After the machine moves, you can continue precise observation and measurement through the main measurement camera.
The practical workflow can therefore be summarized as:
Find the target on the large map → double-click the target position → the machine moves automatically → measure precisely in the main image area
Suitable for Quick Cross-Area Positioning
When workpieces are large, or when measurements need to be taken at multiple positions far apart, smart navigation can significantly reduce the time spent finding target positions.
For example, when checking features on the left, center, and right of a workpiece in sequence, you can double-click the corresponding positions directly in the navigation area to quickly move the machine to different regions.
Compared with repeatedly moving the stage through the main image area, navigation positioning is more intuitive and makes it easier to quickly find targets.
Note on the Z-Axis Height
The navigation camera calibration result depends on the device state at the time of calibration.
If the current Z-axis height differs from the height during navigation camera calibration, deviation may occur between the navigation image and the device's actual positions.
In this case, recalibrate the navigation camera before using navigation positioning again.
Therefore, after calibrating the navigation camera, it is recommended to keep the Z-axis height the same as during calibration.
If the Z-axis height has changed and the machine cannot accurately reach the target area after double-clicking a navigation position, recalibrating the navigation camera should be prioritized.
Recommended Workflow
When using smart navigation in daily operation, follow these steps:
- Confirm that the navigation camera has been calibrated.
- Confirm that the current Z-axis height matches the height during calibration.
- Find the target to measure in the navigation area.
- Double-click the target position.
- Wait for the machine to move to the corresponding area.
- Observe and measure precisely in the main image area.
Smart navigation is responsible for quickly finding the target area, while the main measurement camera is responsible for precise measurement. Working together, they improve operating efficiency for large workpieces.
