Box Selection
Overview
Box selection is an efficient measurement method. You drag the mouse in the Vision Area to select a region, and the software automatically detects edges within the boxed area to generate measurement points. Right-click to confirm and create the corresponding measurement element.
Steps
Step 1: Select a Box Selection Element
In the Measurement Bar, select a box-selection type measurement element. Common box selection elements include:
- Box Line: Fits a straight line within the selected region
- Box Circle: Fits a circle within the selected region
Step 2: Box Select and Generate the Element
- Following the on-screen instructions, press and hold the left mouse button in the Vision Area and drag to define the selection region
- Release the mouse button — the software will automatically detect edges within the region and generate measurement points
- Click the right mouse button to confirm; the software will fit the corresponding measurement element based on the edge points within the boxed region
Note
The box selection region should cover the entire edge of the target element as much as possible for more accurate fitting results.
Notes
- The size and position of the box selection region directly affect edge detection accuracy
- Box selection works best under good lighting conditions
- Box Line is suitable for straight edges; Box Circle is suitable for arc edges
- If the recognition result is unsatisfactory, adjust the boxed region and try again
