Multi-Segment Edge Tracing

Overview

Multi-segment edge tracing is an extension of edge tracing. When the workpiece contour spans multiple regions or requires segmented edge point collection, you can collect points in different areas and generate a unified measurement element at the end.

Steps

  1. Click the Multi-Segment Edge Tracing button in the Measurement Bar
  2. In the first region of the Vision Area, build the collection box using anchor points
  3. Double-click the collection box to record the edge points for the current region
  4. Move the stage to the next region and repeat the process to collect edge points there
  5. Repeat this operation until all desired regions have been collected
  6. Click the right mouse button — the software will automatically fit and generate the measurement element using edge points from all segments

Note

Multi-segment edge tracing is ideal for scenarios where the workpiece contour is discontinuous, spans multiple fields of view, or requires segmented fine control.

Notes

  • You must double-click to confirm each segment after collection; otherwise, that segment's data will not be recorded
  • Collection boxes between segments should overlap slightly to ensure edge continuity
  • For edge scanning parameter settings, see the Edge Tracing page
