Program Recording
Easson2D laser measurement supports program recording.
As with vision measurement and probe measurement, laser programs use automatic recording. You do not need to write program steps manually. Simply complete a laser measurement following the normal workflow, and the software automatically records the related operations and generates the corresponding program steps.
Therefore, the basic usage is:
Complete a correct measurement → automatically generate the program → repeat the run later
Measure as You Record
During program recording, you can complete laser measurement operations in the normal way.
For example:
- Laser point acquisition
- Height measurement
- Flatness measurement
- Laser-vision linked point acquisition
The related operations generated during measurement are automatically recorded into the program.
After completing a full measurement workflow, you obtain the program steps needed for subsequent automatic runs.
Watch the Machine Movement Route
When a laser program runs, the machine moves in sequence according to the recorded positions.
Therefore, when recording the program, besides ensuring the measurement positions are correct, you must also pay attention to:
Whether the movement route between any two consecutive positions is safe.
If the following exist between two measurement positions:
- Workpiece bosses
- Fixtures
- Clamps
- Workpiece side walls
- Other protruding structures
you should not record only the start and end points.
Otherwise, when the program runs, the machine may move along the direct route between the two positions.
Plan the Route with "Set Path"
If two measurement positions cannot be moved between directly, you can use:
Set Path
during program recording to add one or more waypoints.
For example, the original route is:
Measurement position A → Measurement position B
If there is an obstacle in between, you can change it to:
Measurement position A → Waypoint 1 → Waypoint 2 → Measurement position B
so that the machine first passes through safe positions before moving to the next laser measurement area.
Purpose of Waypoints
"Set Path" is mainly used to plan the machine movement route during program execution.
Waypoints themselves do not necessarily collect measurement data. Their main purposes are to:
- Avoid raised areas of the workpiece
- Avoid fixtures or clamps
- Let the machine move to a safe height or safe position first
- Plan the movement order between different measurement areas
Therefore, when recording laser measurement programs for complex workpieces, the program can be understood as:
Measurement steps + a safe movement route
Recommended Recording Approach
For workpieces with multiple laser measurement positions, record in the following way:
- Move the machine to a suitable starting position.
- Complete the laser measurement in the first area.
- Check whether the route to the next measurement area is safe.
- If there are obstacles, use "Set Path" to add waypoints.
- Move to the next area and continue normal measurement.
- Repeat the above process until the measurement workflow for the entire workpiece is complete.
Basic Recording Workflow
Laser program recording can be summarized as:
Perform laser measurement in the normal way → Easson2D automatically records the measurement steps → Use "Set Path" to add waypoints when needed → Complete the measurement workflow for the entire workpiece → A repeatable laser measurement program is automatically formed
Notes When Recording
When recording the program, it is recommended to confirm:
- Whether the measurement positions are correct
- Whether the measurement order is reasonable
- Whether there are obstacles between consecutive positions
- Whether the waypoints form a safe route
- Whether the machine and laser head have sufficient safe clearance throughout the entire movement
For workpieces with a complex structure, do not only consider the final measurement positions; also plan the complete route when the machine moves from one position to another.
If two consecutive positions cannot be moved between safely and directly, add waypoints with "Set Path" during program recording.
